Veterans Day Google Logo for US in 2009

Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.) Read more on wiki.

The google doodle for Veterans Day 2009 makes no sense. What’s the deal with the short person on the right? Are they an adult or a child, why is their belly so puffed out? What kind of uniform is that? Why are they holding their nose? Why is there a teddy bear? And what are the two red things in front of the teddy bear?

It looks like a midget saluting a giant falice… they should have rethought about cutting the soldier off at the waist like that

Yeah this is honestly the unclearest google doodle logo ever. I have never seen the E not resemble an E.

Google motto has never been “We’re Google what ever letters we want to resemble, it will always spell Google.”

So point is this is the unclearest google doodle I personally have seen.

yeah i was confused when i saw it. i can see the veterans day meaning but… im still confused — so youre saying the picture isnt supposed to resemble “g-o-o-g-l-e”? then why would they put “g-o-o” but leave out the “g-l-e”? it just doesnt quite make sense to me.

nonetheless i love that they are supporting veterans day. yay google!
