I just noticed that Google didn't display the fourth of July doodle when I opened my browsers, and now that I think about it, it hasn't displayed any doodles for the past few months, is it possible that they stop showing them in different countries, I'm in Italy btw.

And it's not a problem of browser's cache, I used different computers, FF IE OP and even a fresh install on a virtual machine.

any idea?

Great idea to honour someone with such talent from the past. I was not familier with his work, but was curious enough to do a little quick research (using Google)and came away knowing a little bit more.

A delight to open to my homepage this morning and see this, especially if one is an art historian at heart. Thank you.

I thought the hot air balloon flight last week was stupid... There's so many new 'discoveries' lately, they could change it every 5 minutes.

I reckon they should just leave it the same, and show Earth day or some other MEANINGFUL cause that needs to attract the attention of hundreds of millions of people.
