The Fall of the Berlin Wall – 20th anniversary celebrations

On November 9, 2009, Berlin will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with a "Festival of Freedom", during which over 1,000 foam domino tiles over 8 feet tall will be stacked along the former route of the wall in the city center and toppled.

A Berlin Twitter Wall was set up to allow Twitter users post messages commemorating the 20th anniversary. Masses of Chinese users have used it to protest the Great Firewall of China. Berlin Twitter Wall was quickly blocked by the Chinese authorities.

In the United States, the German Embassy is coordinating a public diplomacy campaign with the motto "Freedom Without Walls" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The campaign is focused on promoting awareness of the fall of the Berlin Wall among current college students, and students at over 20 universities will participate in "Freedom Without Walls" events in late 2009. The Berlin Wall’s fall was one of the biggest, positive events in world history. Here in the Czech Republic, what do we have? 40 years of Sesame Street. Sort it out, Google.

why is the logo of Google/Berlin-Wall-Falling only shown in Germany?

It’s one of the most significant historical events of the last 50 years.

It should be the logo for Google today in every country.

Enough with the 40th of Sesame Street. The wall coming down only made the logo in Germany and 250th of Robert Burns missed entirely. Who comes up with this stuff?
