Percival Lowell was born on March 13, 1855 in Boston, Massachusetts.
He was a wealthy amateur astronomer who was convinced that there were canals on Mars, and was the founder of Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Percival Lowell once said “A man is not great until he has achieved his greatest”. He achieved his greatest with his incredible Mars discovery.
